Rocket Racing League™ Promotes the Power of Rocket Engines

The Rocket Racing League is an aerospace entertainment company that combines the exhilaration of racing with the power of rocket engines. The RRL is dedicated to providing safe and thrilling experiences for racing fans through live events, television broadcasts and interactive technologies. In the same way that grand prix racing has improved cars driven today, Rocket Racing will help to stimulate advances in safe, low-cost and reliable rocket-powered vehicles for future space travel.

Dr. Diamandis sets the league’s overall vision and strategy and develops strategic partners to aid the fulfillment of the RRL’s mission. He is a pioneer and leader in the commercial space arena and Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation (www.xprize.org), which awarded the $10,000,000 Ansari X PRIZE (www.xprize.org) for private spaceflight. Diamandis is the CEO of Zero Gravity Corporation (www.nogravity.com) and is a co-founder of Space Adventures, Ltd.

Granger Whitelaw is the RRL’s President and CEO, responsible for developing partnerships and overseeing the leagues day-to-day operations, management and corporate affairs. He is a two-time Indianapolis 500 champion team partner and the Founding Partner and Managing Director of BlueCar Partners, LLC a global venture-consulting firm.

Other members of The Rocket Racing League’s management team are leaders in the aerospace, racing, business and entertainment sectors. Staff experts include former astronauts and pilots, aeronautics and astronautics engineers, film producers and race industry executives. Dr. Robert J. Hariri, a scientist, neurosurgeon, inventor and businessman who has established himself as a recognized leader in the development of new human cellular and tissue therapeutics.

Robert K. Weiss has been one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood, having produced over 20 feature films and television series over the past 25 years. Weiss produced the renowned film, “The Blues Brothers” directed by John Landis. Other work with Landis includes the feature film “Amazon Women On The Moon” and the television series “Sliders”, “Dream On”, and “Weird Science”. Weiss has served as a consultant to the Boeing Corporation and principal in a global consortium founded to produce and distribute space related multimedia educational and entertainment programs, products and services. Mr. Weiss has been the Vice Chairman of the X PRIZE Foundation since 1996. In the fall of 2004, he was executive producer for the live telecast and webcast of the winning Ansari X PRIZE flights.

Ramy Weitz has been a founder, creative director and managing director of various companies in the fields of media production, information packaging and distribution, interactive entertainment products and services and community collaboration. He founded Pixel Animation (Acquired by CMG, 1997), Pixel Multimedia (Acquired by Take Two, 2001), Broadband Studios (Acquired by Gameplay PLC, 2001), RT-Set (Public company in Germany, 1998)as well as five other companies in the fields of Simulation, Optical Networking and Team Collaboration platforms.

Members of the Rocket Racing League (RRL™) can race high performance cars around a ground track. This three-dimensional track will host manned, rocket-powered airplanes racing on a three-dimensional track which reaches into the sky. Initially, the track is planned to extend one mile vertically, two miles down-track and one-half mile in the cross-plane direction. Virtual race tracks are displayed to both spectators and pilots. They are governed by a series of GPS designated waypoints which shape the closed circuit track. Spectators experience the close-in roar of rocket power as clusters of aircraft compete for the purse.

Headquartered in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the Rocket Racing League will operate its business and all events and efforts within the guidelines of the Federal Aviation Administration and state and local authorities. The RRL has established a governing body to set all specifications for the X-Racers, drivers, and race rules. These rules and regulations will be reviewed on a yearly basis by the RRL’s board and teams and made available to the public.
